Tamar Dover

Originally from New York, Tamar has been teaching Pilates in the Bay Area since 2002. She received her first certification in New York in 2001 and recently completed her second year-long training and certification through the Pilates Center of Boulder.  While both of her trainings were in classical Pilates, Tamar brings a variety of experience to her teaching. 


During her tenure as a physical therapy aide and dance medicine specialist at Center for Sports Medicine in San Jose, she refined and expanded her approach to Pilates working in a rehabilitation setting under the guidance of physical therapists and orthopedists. 


She has studied with some of the most distinguished teachers in the Pilates world, including Amy Alpers, Cara Reeser, Erik Franklin, Ron Fletcher, and & Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence.  Tamar is greatly inspired by her work with pre/post-natal women, and in spring of 2008 she completed Carolyne Anthony's Pre/Post-Natal Specialist Certification Program.  

 

Tamar enjoys teaching clients of all ages and abilities and tailors her classes and private lessons to personalize the experience.  She is especially passionate in her work with pre/post-natal women and seeks to empower them during this exciting time in their lives and support them in achieving a positive and peaceful pregnancy and labor.  She has also successfully coached a wide range of students including dancers, elite athletes and those rehabilitating an injury or dealing with chronic pain and helped them achieve whole body wellness. 

Aura Fischbeck

Aura Fischbeck is a certified Pilates Instructor from the Pilates Center in Boulder, CO, and has been teaching the Pilates Method since 2003.  Her interest in Pilates as an exercise, rehabilitation, and mind/body integration technique evolved out of her background as a dancer, and continues to be informed by and inform her dance training.

As an instructor she aims to meet each individual client wherever they are in their fitness or skill level, and custom design an appropriate workout for each client. Her emphasis is on breathing, proper alignment and healthful technique, along with relaxation and the release of unnecessary tension, having fun, and feeling great!
